While I don't miss the ceremony I do often think about it when there is a full moon in the March - April time of the year.

When will my daddy be resurrected?
by nibbled in20:12, 13: i saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and scrolls were opened.
john and revelation both say that the dead will be judged according to their deeds.
that resurrection is for those who rule with christ for the thousand years.

The simplest, most comforting answer is... he already has been resurrected and is with God in heaven.
How many times I was tormented wondering if I'd ever see a dead loved one again. What a terrible feeling for a kid (or anyone else) to have!

Fb status of a Young JW Mom. Sooo Sick!
by 3dogs1husband incan't believe that we made it through the whole assembly, **** wasn't feeling good last night, has a cold, was pretty cranky, then he seemed fine and minutes later im making a bowl with my hands for him to throw up in while we are sitting (the joys of parenthood) then into a plastic bag, then very quickly ran to the bathroom for even more throwing up, but suprisingly we stayed for the rest of the day.
trying to think of a response.
i am not "out" on fb soooo sick from this i wanna throw up myself...poor children!.

I actually perfected the "sick routine" when I was a kid. Used succesfully on many a meeting nights and school sometimes!
What's the point of having your child be uncomfortable. Let me recall all the fine points I can recall from my countless assemblies- zilch!

I never sunscribed to the whole shunning. My best friend left his wife and the truth suddenly. I tried calling and finally tracked him down. He was of the mindset, why are you talking to me? He had his mind made up and besides I never really liked his wife anyway!
I gave him a hug told him I was his friends first.

Service meeting topic: Masturbation
by perfect1 inone of my strangest memories of going to the kh was when a young- maybe 18-20, pimply young man got up to talk about jhvhs view of masturbation during a service meeting.. of course, it was impossible to think about him not masturbating.
i was just hitting puberty and found the whole thing very uncomfortable- i think my dad was even critiquing him (what is that called when elder gives the feedback).
looking back now i can see that to publicly condemn masturbation, especially when a young man is delivering this admonition, is- well- hilarious.

Always creeped me out when they drolled on about masturbation and the circumcision thing. Penis envy perhaps?!
Why couldn’t we spend as much time talking about petting? I pride myself on figuring out petting wasn’t like patting a dog on the head! All it did was make me want to go out and pet all the lovely young sisters I daydreamed about!

Any born-ins have this attitude about converts?
by Nambo inso there was this great gang of us, from south london, manchester and wolverhampton, went to socialise with a group in fishguard in wales.. amongst the conversations one of the single sisters stated, "i could never marry anybody who used to be in the world".. i guess a lifetime of knocking on doors had given her the impression there couldnt possibly be a convert in her midst, never mind later alone with her in her mgb.. so whats with this, did you think we had rat scabies or were possesed by demons or something?.

What a great thread! I can vouch the born-ins were always leery of the converts as my Mom was. Did anyone else ever hear, “Can’t you find a nice girl from a nice family born in the truth?” But I thought wait a minute- you were a convert so how does that line of reasoning work!
Truth be told many of the converts were socially retarded but I admired those who seemed to be normal yet at the same time I wondered what made them join up! They were 2nd class pubs and when one of these convert brothers were fast-tracked to responsibility it created both a flurry of whispers but also a flurry of... why can't you reach out like so & so!
The sisters were especially criticized. I remember a nice family coming in getting up to speed in the Hall. The wife was pretty attractive and well, had a nice set of tooties on her. She couldn't walk without a jiggle! They always sat in the front of the Hall and I enjoyed the times she got up during the meeting to use the bathroom as she bounced, I meant walked the length of the Hall. If it was distracting to me in field service I wonder what the householders thought! I digress!
I always envied those converts who got to experience life including Christmas, birthdays, even the military. What was it like and why can’t I experience what you did? Worse were the converts who had a college education! I loved it when they had to play that aspect down in their comments and behavior.
Like I said, most converts were social retards but there were some keepers.

Can someone please explain why I'm NOT DF'd yet???
by Calebs Airplane ini have been sending one "apostate" email after another to an elder in my congo (who frequently does circuit and district convention parts) and i'm still not df'd.... i've even sent him a free pdf copy of "crisis of conscience" twice in the last 3 months (sorry cynthia franz), as well as emails about the whole spectrum of bullshit (607, 144k, 1935, blood, proof of lies, false predictions, etc...).
he vary rarely responds but i know he's reading them because he said so in a recent google chat.... he even acknowledged that the wt got 607 wrong but then says that i should look at the positives and stop finding fault.... but still... i sent some really strong gb-bashing emails and i'n not df'd.... i mean seriously, i've pushed the envelope as far as i possibly can.. what the hell is going on???

While we haven't gone to that extreme we've merely faded. Haven't been to meetings in years. We decorate our house with lights at Christmas and all. Never formally contacted my the congo. What do you suppose our status is?

Doomsday e-mail has my co-worker paranoid
by fade_away ini cannot stand the doomsday people trying to spread fear amongst everyone.
i've had enough doom and gloom from the 25 years of my jw service...i just want to be happy and positive.
but my co-worker is very pessimistic, anti-social and an extreme negative energy all around.

When you hear of wars and reports of war...
I think the only reason I watched the news was to hear someone say "peace and security" 'cuz then I knew the new system was gonna swoop down on us.
What a twisted thing to hope and wait for!

Experience with Former Elder regarding contributions at Conventions
by Momma-Tossed-Me ini recently had the opportunity to visit with a former elder who has successfully faded without getting df'd, but he is completely aware of the sham.
he was the main accounts guy for the conventions in his circuit.
he related a very telling story to me the other day that i thought i would share with you.

I actually looked forward to the accounts report that last afternoon session of the assemblies. Just once I wanted to hear we had a surplus but I can't recall that ever happening.
But praise the Lord by the close of the session we had made up that darn deficit! What are the odds!
Can anyone say... fuzzy math!
